I have been making slow progress in the downstair toilet conversion since I went back to work after the New Year's holiday. Most of my weekends have been flying by with various family activities.
Last weekend I did manage to fit a hidden cistern. I am looking for a clean line finish for the toilet so I have opted for a wall hung toilet with the cistern hidden away behind a plasterboard panel. I looked at 2 hidden cistern systems from Grohe and Geberit. The first was a Geberit Duofix frame which I initially bought online (for about 40% less than the local building provider). At a later date I chose my wall hung cistern and sink and realised I ordered the wrong size cistern from Geberit. The guys from Waterloo where I bought my toilet and sink swapped the Gerberit part for a smaller Grohe Rapid SL part (be patient as the website loads very slowly). Problem sorted.
A video giving a good overview on fitting the Grohe hidden cistern is available here. Both the Geberit and Grohe cistern frames are well made, easy to fit, and I would recommend either.
