Peas in a Jar

A quick and easy way to get an early start on your peas is to start them of in a clean jam jar. Place a kitchen towel in side the jar, add water and let the paper soak up the water so it sticks to the jar side. Place pea 4 or 5 seeds between the wet paper and the glass.

Above are some peas I started on St Patrick's day. Remember to add a small amount of water to the bottom of the jar daily. You just need enough to stop the paper from drying out.

When the peas start to appear over the top of the jar I will plant outdoor in a raised bed. Will need to first harden off for a few days in my outdoor propagator before planting on.

To have a continuous crop of peas throughout the season plant seeds every 2 weeks.
