Intercropping is way of maximising the yield from your plot. By planting fast growing plants in the space between slow growing plants you aim to harvest the faster growing plants before the the slower ones have filled in the space. Today I sowed a row of radishes and a row of pak choi between the broccoli plants I planted out last weekend.
Suitable fast growing plants include small salad leaves, endives, radishes, spinach. Slow growing plant amongst which you can plant quicker ones include brassicas (broccoli, cabbage), tomatoes, sweetcorn, leeks.
