It has been 3 weeks since I sowed the lawn. The grass is up but a bit patchy and weeds are starting to appear. I sowed more grass seed to the patchy areas. The weeds that I can not pull out by hand will have to wait until the lawn is ready to cut. Once the grass fills in and gets cut it should surpress the weeds. Most of the 'feed and weed' dressing for lawns do not recommend use on new lawns and to only apply to lawns that are laid for 12 months or more.
I will update in a few weeks and hopefully the seed in the patchy areas wll have taken and the weeds are not out of control.
