Headed down early Saturday morning to the Gap of Dunloe with Aaron and Olivia for this year's Gap Meet. Lots of photos on the meet Facebook page. Camping as usual in Con's camp site just a short distance from the gap.
On Saturday we warmed up on some routes on H Buttress and I finished the day leading Mother Of Prague E1 (5b). A great route with some serious exposure as you commit to the outer face near the top.
Food, beer and meeting up with fellow climbers in the evening at Kate's followed by more beers back at the campsite fire.
Sunday was a little cooler and a lot more windy so Aaron and I headed to Bothán where we climbed Agent Orange HS (4b), First Come First Served VS (4b), Raven VS (4b) and topped Ljubljana E1 (5c). Ljubljana is a lovely route with a physical well protected first section. The finish has an awkward move and less protection. I hope to try and lead this route on my next visit.
It may be a bit of a drive to get to the Gap from Dublin but once there all the routes are easy to access. Lots of routes to climb for all levels. The PDF climbing guide is available online.
