BBC's Gardener's World are offering free vegetable seed packs to encourage viewers to grow their own veg. You can apply for a seed pack on the Dig In website. It seems to be only available in the UK but I applied anyway. Will see if they wil post to Ireland but I don't hold up much hope.
There is also a useful calendar on the site detailing what jobs should be done each month.
