New Lawn Preparation - Part 1
The rear garden was left in a bit of a mess after the builders were in last year to build a kitchen extension. The basic plan was to have a number of raised beds at the end of the garden to grow vegetables. The remaining area close to the house would be a lawn bordered by paving.
After lots of digging, moving mounds of dirt and stones the garden resembled the picture below at the beginning of last summer. I had also added a number of raised beds made from recycled desking boards the the rear of the garden. A wide paved path was run down one side for access between house and garage. This side of the garden is north facing so is always in the shade and was best choice for the path.
In a later post I will details some of the work I did over winter and this spring to add extra raised bedding, paving, and lawn preparation.
