New Lawn Preparation - Part 3
I finally got to sowing grass for the back garden lawn. Not sure if the timing is right as April and September are supposed to be the best times to sow a new lawn. I suppose I'll know in a few weeks.
I racked over the soil several time to remove any stones and to level the surface.Once I was happy with the levels I split the grass seed into four equal portions and sowed each by hand starting from and different side of the lawn and direction. The logic here is that this will give a more uniform coverage of the seed. Here is a good reference I came across on how to sow a lawn.
I used a borrowed riddle from a neighbour so I could removed stones down to 15mm in size.I now have several buckets full of stones. Need to figure out how to get ride of these. I can always dig a hole and bury them or used them to fill some potdoles in the lane around the back of the house.
