Breaking In The New BBQ

It is a good time to check for online deals on BBQs. Summer is drawing to a close and there are some good discounts from the online retails. Last weekend I bought a Dancook 1800 kettle BBQ at a 30% discount on list price. Shipping from UK to Ireland was less than £10. Shipped on Monday and arrived on schedule Wednesday afternoon.
The unusual design won me over with the kettle BBQ sits in a distinctive three legged base. The design is very robust and the build quality is very good.

This evening meals was a whole chicken, BBQ sea bass. and courgettes, pumpkin (a little on the small side), and onions from the garden. At the end of the meal the BBQ works nicely as a fire pit with the top and cooking grill removed, and a few logs thrown on top.
With a nice bottle of wine it is a nice way to end an evening as the temperature cools down. Next weekend I am hoping to have a block party with our neightbours. We have 5 houses in our terrace and last year we all got together one evening in September with our BBQs in the back lane, a feed of beers, and steaks and had a very enjoyable block party. We are hoping to repeat it again this year and make it the start of a annual tradition.
