Sweetcorn Germinated and Chillies Transplanted

A week on from sowing my sweetcorn and beans both have germinated well. I planted the remainder of my sweetcorn seeds this weekend in trays and I will be keeping them in the heat of the kitchen for as long as possible.
Over the long weekend I also transplanted my chiilis from their seedtrays into some plastic cups. They are a lot cheaper than pots. Since I don't have the space for all these plants to grow to maturity I am planning to give away most of these plants to friend and neighbours in the coming weeks.
Fruit has started to set on my red currant and gooseberry bushes. It looks like another bumper crop of red currants again this summer. As usual I will donate most of these to a neighbour in return for some freshly made jam.
