Garden Vegetables Coming To An End

I had a major clean up of the vegetable beds today. I harvested the last of the sweetcorn, peas, squashes, and courgettes. The remains of the plants were added to my ever growing compost bins.



I still have quite a few tomatoes left and hope to be still harvesting them for another week or two. After that there are a few heads of lettuce and some broad beans left for harvesting.

The raised beds are starting to look very bare and I need to decide what to do with them over the winter months. I will be paying a visit to the garden centre soon to pick up some garlic cloves and onion sets for over wintering. I might also investigate some of the green manure opinions to add back some nutrients to the soil over the winter months.
