I finally got around to finish digging over my raised beds before winter arrives. The last of the tomato plants have been dug up along with any weeds, with the result that both of my compost bins are now overflowing. I should also start to think about emptying out the bottom of each bin and spreading it over a raised bed. This will help to suppress any weeds and give the worms plenty of time to work the compost into the ground before next spring. I'll leave this job for some weekend in December.
The first shoots of the onion I plants 2 weeks ago have started to appear under the netting. It also looks like the netting is working at keeps the cats from digging up the beds.
The only vegetables left in the garden are my leaks which should last us through to the new year and a few daikon which will be eaten by the end of the month.
