Sweetcorn Transplated

Early last week I transplanted this year's sweetcorn crop into a sun facing raised bed along with the first batch of peppers. Since sweetcorn is not pollinated by insects but rely on the wind to blow pollen from the male flowers to the female flowers it should be planted in square blocks rather than in long rows.

We have been eating a steady supply of spinach, lettuce, and spring onions from the garden over the last few weeks. I expect to harvest some carrots and mangetout in the coming weeks.
