July is definitely a month of plenty in the garden. In the last week I started into my broccoli crop. The heads have nearly doubled in size in the last week and with about a dozen plants I suspect I am going to be eating lots of brocoli over the coming weeks. We are about half way through the early potato crop. The picture above is the amount of potatoes I got from a single plant. They still taste good and are lasting well in the ground.
I harvested my first courgette of the season this evening. I have quite a few plants that I have been transplanting over the last month as space frees up from other crop. So I expect to have a lot to harvest over the coming weeks. The trick will be to harvest them small and often.
I also have plenty of shallots, onions, endives, carrots, peas ready for harvest. So lots of vegetables with dinner and salads. No need to buy vegetables at the supermarket and we just eat what is in season in the garden.
