Garlic Harvest 2012

This year's garlic harvest has been a disappointment. I planted about 3 dozen cloves last October to over-winter. With all the recent rain and a bad case of rust I only managed to harvest a dozen bulbs. I took care to dispose of the foliage in the general waste so as to avoid the disease building up in the compost bin. The few bulbs I managed to harvest were not particular large but they still taste good.

I wont let one bad harvest put me off over-wintering garlic again. I just need to buy bulbs resistant to the disease for next year's crop.
